AMERICAN ACTION NETWORK AND AMERICAN ACTION FORUM LAUNCH HISPANIC LEADERSHIP NETWORK

Hispanic Leadership Network To Host First Event January 2011 In Florida

WASHINGTON – The American Action Network and the American Action Forum today launched their Hispanic Leadership Network. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez will serve as co-chairs of the Hispanic Leadership Network, and the group will host its inaugural conference January 13-14, 2011 in Coral Gables, FL. American Action Network and American Action Forum CEO Norm Coleman issued the following statement:

“I am proud to announce the official launch of the Hispanic Leadership Network, an ongoing effort by the American Action Network and the American Action Forum to provide a platform for the Hispanic community to connect with center-right policies and leaders,” said Coleman. “On the eve of an election that will see record diversity among center-right candidates and center-right voters, now is the time to harness that energy and turn those shared values into real grassroots action. I appreciate the hard work and support of our Chairmen, Jeb Bush, Governor of Florida from 1999-2007, and Secretary Carlos Gutierrez for their help in organizing the Hispanic Leadership Network and our first event in Coral Gables next year.”

“The Hispanic Leadership Network is an exciting new opportunity to engage an important and fast-growing community,” said Governor Jeb Bush. “The inaugural conference in Coral Gables is a great place for elected officials and business leaders to connect with grassroots advocates in the Hispanic community.”

“I applaud the American Action Network and the American Action Forum for taking the lead in reaching out to the Hispanic community by creating the Hispanic Leadership Network,” said Secretary Carlos Gutierrez. “I am hopeful that this effort will give the Hispanic community a clear voice in the development and promotion of center-right policies.”

The Hispanic Leadership Network will be an ongoing effort by the American Action Network and the American Action Forum to engage center-right members of the Hispanic community and encourage active participation in our democracy. It will also serve as a platform for center-right leaders to speak directly to the Hispanic community.
