American Action Network Launches $1.8 Million Campaign Thanking 76 Members for Balancing the Budget
WASHINGTON – The 501c4 American Action Network (@AAN) today released a $1.8 Million campaign of TV, radio, mail, print and digital ads in 76 districts nationwide of Members of Congress who voted to balance the budget, protect Medicare for seniors, and replace Medicare’s failed Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) payment system.
The campaign includes $350,000 in four TV ads thanking eight Members, $75,000 on radio ads thanking four Members, $1.1 million in mail and print ads thanking 42 Members and over $250,000 in digital ads thanking 66 Members. See the full list of 76 members and activity here.

The $350,000 TV ad campaign includes:
- $100,000 on Nashville (TN) broadcast TV thanking Reps. Marsha Blackburn (TN-07) and Diane Black (TN-06)
- $100,000 on Grand Rapids (MI) broadcast TV thanking Reps. Bill Huizenga (MI-02) and Fred Upton (MI-06)
- $90,000 on Louisville (KY) broadcast TV thanking Reps. Brett Guthrie (KY-02) & Todd Young (IN-09)
- $60,000 on Spokane (WA) broadcast TV thanking Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) and Dan Newhouse (WA-04).
“Americans ready for leadership in Washington can look no further than Members of Congress who voted to balance the budget, strengthen Medicare for seniors, and fix the SGR mess once and for all,” said AAN President Mike Shields. “We want constituents around the country to know that their Member of Congress demonstrated real leadership here. We hope Americans call their Member of Congress and thank them for their role in passing these conservative solutions.”
Leading up to the vote on the House Republican Balanced Budget plan, AAN released a national $550,000 TV and digital ad campaign urging support for the balanced budget. This year alone, AAN has spent nearly $3.3 Million in issue advocacy campaigns supporting center-right causes.
