AAN Launches Ad Campaign Urging Liberals in Congress to Support Commonsense Immigration Measures
The $9.5 million issue advocacy campaign will run on TV and digital platforms
American Action Network (AAN) is launching the initial stage of an issue advocacy campaign urging liberals in Congress to support commonsense immigration measures to secure our border that have been opposed and jettisoned. That includes forcing the Biden Administration to reinstate the popular Remain in Mexico policy, which was revoked in February 2021. Since then, the U.S. has seen record levels of illegal immigration with ten million crossings at our southern border.
The $9.5 million ad campaign will run initially in ten congressional districts across the country on television and digital platforms.
“To highlight how dangerous the Biden administration’s border policy is, eight suspected terrorists with ties to ISIS-K were arrested in the U.S. after entering illegally at the southern border, where they were vetted and released upon entry. The major national security threat a porous border presents is exactly what conservatives in Congress have been saying for years,” said AAN President Dan Conston. “If the left is serious about securing the border and cleaning up their illegal immigration crisis, liberals in Congress will stop opposing and begin supporting commonsense legislation like reinstating Remain in Mexico and give Americans the peace of mind they deserve.”
Ads will run in the following districts initially:
• AK-AL: Rep. Mary Peltola
• CO-08: Rep. Yadira Caraveo
• ME-02: Rep. Jared Golden
• NC-01: Rep. Don Davis
• NY-18: Rep. Pat Ryan
• OH-09: Rep. Marcy Kaptur
• OH-13: Rep. Emilia Sykes
• PA-07: Rep. Susan Wild
• PA-08: Rep. Matt Cartwright
• WA-03: Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
Background:
American Action Network has long been an advocate for commonsense border security legislation. AAN immigration research from February found that 62% of battleground voters support forcing the Biden Administration to reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, as opposed to 28% who oppose. The AAN survey also shows that over 85% of Americans agree that there is a crisis at our southern border and almost 90% believe the U.S. Government needs to act on border security.
