AAN Targets Corrupt Congressman Tim Bishop (NY-01) with $1.2 Million Campaign

WASHINGTON – The American Action Network (@AAN) today announced they will be spending $1.2 Million in New York’s 1st congressional district race between scandal-plagued Congressman Tim Bishop and Senator-Soldier Lee Zeldin. The independent expenditures will include cable television and digital advertising throughout the month of October.

“It’s time corrupt politician Tim Bishop answers for his cash-for-favor fireworks scandal and record of taking advantage at the expense of hard-working Long Islanders,” said Emily Davis, spokeswoman for American Action Network. “Long Islanders deserve a proven leader like center-right rising star Lee Zeldin who will fight to repeal Obamacare, reduce tax burdens and put jobs first.”

This is part of a first round of announced spending totaling $8 Million in nine districts across the country along with AAN’s sister organization, the Congressional Leadership Fund Super PAC. During the 2012 election cycle, independent expenditures of AAN and CLF were rated the #1 and #2 Highest “Return on Investment” of any conservative outside spenders.

The American Action Network is a 501(c)(4) 'action tank' that creates, encourages and promotes center-right policies based on the principles of freedom, limited government, American exceptionalism, and strong national security. The American Action Network's primary goal is to put our center-right ideas into action by engaging the hearts and minds of the American people and spurring them into action to advance our center-right policy agenda. The Network is chaired by former Senator Norm Coleman (MN) and its board includes Fred Malek, former Congressman Tom Reynolds (NY), and former Congressman Vin Weber (MN).
