Since taking office, their failed border policies have resulted in: over 5 million illegal border crossings, CBP has lost operational control as criminals and gang members sneak into our country, fentanyl has become the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-49 because of the narcotics flowing into American communities, and 85,000 children have been lost that the Biden administration, under law, has the responsibility of caring for. With Title 42 ending in just a few days, the border crisis is expected to get worse fast. We need a solution. Republicans have introduced H.R. 2, a commonsense plan to secure our border and combat illegal immigration. The bill would: - Force the Biden admin to restart construction of the border wall. - Deploy technology to the southern and northern borders. - Increase the number of Border Patrol agents and provide bonus pay. - Require transparency from the DHS regarding illegal crossings. - Strengthen our laws to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking. - End catch and release. - End abuse of executive immigration authority. - Strengthen and streamline the asylum process.
